Puffin, Bird & Seal Tour

From June through August 19th this 2-2½ hour tour will take you out to Pearl Island the only puffin nesting colony on the southwestern coast of Nova Scotia, where you’ll also see; Razorbills, Black Guillemots, Common Terns, Common Eiders and Seagulls. Then we’ll steam back to Seal Rock to watch the seals sunbathing or feeding depending on the tides and then cross the head of beautiful St. Margaret’s Bay.

Here are some common birds that hang out at Pearl Island: Atlantic Puffin, Black Guillemot, Razorbill, Common Murre (occasional), Double-crested Cormorant, Arctic Tern, Common Tern, Great Black-backed Gull, Herring Gull, Black-legged Kittiwake, Sooty Shearwater, Great Shearwater, Cory’s Shearwater, Manx Shearwater, Wilson’s Storm Petrel, Leach’s Storm Petrel, Great Blue Heron, Peregrine Falcon and Bald Eagle.

From July 6th to August 10th, Jason Dain, a renowned local naturist will be your guide every Saturday. These tours will depart at 7:00 am and return at 10:00 am, spending 1 hour at Pearl Island, truly a photography and birder tour not to be missed. The cost of this special trip is $65.00 per person
